Artist Rachael Linton is among the first artists in the world to ‘fix’ or solidify cymatics sound vibrations into physical paintings.
A multimedia artist, painter, gilder, and musician, Linton draws on her background in gold leaf gilding and traditional Verre églomisé techniques to paint the natural sonic waves onto both glass and wood panel paintings. She uses fine art pigments, genuine gold powders and precious metal leaf to create luster and luxury.
Dubbed an acoustic alchemist Linton deals with the forces of nature in her paintings. Harmony and chaos as well as radiance and illumination are themes she conveys through her art. She values improvisation and intuitive abstract painting, which allows an aspect of the unconscious and numinous, a state of cosmic consciousness to enter her work. Her art techniques derive from a background in Gold leaf gilding and her Masters in Visual communication Design. Linton is a recognised leader in the field of cymatics. #Cymatics
Participants in her kinetic art exhibitions have reported deep healing experiences and altered states of consciousness by viewing her work. She illuminates cymatics as an art & science which explains the relationship between energy and matter by using sound, light, and form in motion to create immersive and interactive experiences that create ripples in the fabric of space-time.
15 years of kinetic interactive art installations can be found in the ‘Retrospective’.
Handpainted contemporary paintings using cymatics and genuine gold leaf and other precious metals can be found for sale in the ‘Gallery’. Linton aims to create art using cymatics that can affect the mind, body, and spirit of her audiences. Her pictures provoke both the intellect and the imagination in meditative, transcendental & timeless imagery. This website is a representation of Rachael Linton’s art,
exploring cymatics sound resonance and the nature of vibration & the cosmic universe.
